A different kind of health club
Our purpose is to bring back the personal health club and prove its impact on people’s health. Our vision is a place in every community that helps people feel better, age better and live better.
More than 8 in 10 UK adults aren’t members of a gym or health club, and for many, a traditional gym has never felt like the right fit. Go! Health Clubs Woking is built for them. It’s a warm, welcoming club where coaches support every member, every session, and where we measure the difference we make. We want people to manage the stairs more easily, keep up with the grandchildren, get back on track after an injury or health scare, and simply feel more like themselves.
We’re looking for a coach who shares that belief and wants to be part of building something new.
Move Well. Recover Well. Live Well.
Everything we do sits within three pillars, and you’ll help members with all three:
Move Well: strength, balance and mobility, using our EGYM smart strength circuit, Power Plate and cardio
Recover Well: helping members rest and restore, with infrared sauna, cryotherapy, compression and massage
Live Well: consultations, body composition, and support with nutrition, sleep and stress
Our values: PRIME
Personal: every member is known, welcomed and supported as an individual
Results: we measure outcomes and share them honestly
Inclusive: everyone belongs here, whatever their age, ability or starting point
Mutual: we succeed together, as a team and with our members
Evidence-led: we make no claims we can’t back up
Your role
You’ll guide members through a personal journey, not just a workout. Many of the people you support will be over 45, and some will be living with long-term health conditions or joining through an exercise referral. Your job is to help them feel safe, supported and capable from day one.
What you’ll do
Welcome new members and lead their consultations, using health questionnaires and SECA body composition scans to set a clear starting point
Build safe, personalised programmes, adapting exercise for arthritis, mobility limitations, musculoskeletal conditions (including shoulder injuries) and balance challenges
Support members referred through exercise referral schemes, and keep accurate member records and referral documentation
Review and rescan members every six weeks, and adjust programmes so they keep improving safely
Be a friendly, reassuring presence on the floor, giving every member personal attention
Encourage and motivate members so they stay engaged and enjoy coming in
What you’ll bring
A Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification (minimum)
[A Level 3 Exercise Referral qualification] / [Willingness to complete a Level 3 Exercise Referral qualification, which we will support]
Experience working with older adults
A strong understanding of exercise prescription and how to adapt it for different conditions and limitations
A warm, patient and empathetic manner, and the ability to explain things simply
Excellent communication and motivational skills
A professional, organised and proactive approach
[CIMSPA registration or equivalent]
[Current professional indemnity insurance]
[Willingness to complete an enhanced DBS check]
It would be great if you also have
A nutrition qualification or proven knowledge (guidance within scope of practice)
Experience of GP referral programmes
Working knowledge of EGYM equipment
Specialist qualifications in active ageing, rehabilitation, long-term health conditions or corrective exercise
A current First Aid certificate
