HEALTH & FITNESS APPRENTICE

30 hours per week, £8.00 per hour, temporary for 15 months (Monday to Sunday on a one-week rota) , across our venues including Splash, Forum & IB Leisure

We have a successful partnership with SCL Group, building on our ongoing commitment to high-quality training to deliver a Personal Trainer Enhanced level 3 apprenticeship scheme. At Tees Active, we have been supporting young people to take their first steps into the exciting world of leisure.

A high number of our apprentices go on to secure employment with us once their apprenticeship has finished, which highlights our commitment to nurturing talented young people at the beginning of their journey.

THE ROLE

Within our Health & Fitness Apprenticeships we provide you with the necessary qualifications and hands on experience in your chosen field to begin a great career. While undertaking one of our apprenticeships, you will be responsible for a range of duties to grow and develop your skills.

The role will involve:
•Working within a busy and fast paced gym environment.
•Providing first class customer care within the gym to help our members achieve their goals and remain motivated.
•Assisting the management of the facilities in the development and delivery of a comprehensive fitness activity programme and all associated programmes.
•Shadowing experienced and highly skilled professionals who will guide and mentor you to make the most out of your time with us.
•Assisting with the planning and delivery of sessions, taking the lead with small groups as directed.
•Undertaking and supervise fitness assessments, inductions and instruction.
•Implementation of customer sales and retention schemes and promotional incentives and any other schemes related to business development.
•Gaining valuable experience of the fitness industry alongside professional qualifications that will allow you to train and coach others within a gym setting.
•Maintaining the health and safety of sessions/activities at all times.
•Sharing knowledge and ideas with other Coach Core apprentices, to help improve coaching delivery.
•Pro-actively using different technology systems to record and collect confidential information of customers.

REQUIREMENTS

GCSE or equivalent Maths and English (Grade C/4) Essential

You must be able to work in a team, have good communication, organisational skills and be committed to completing your apprenticeship.

FUTURE PROSPECTS
These programmes often lead to possible progression into full and part time roles, further qualifications, higher level apprenticeships and employment within the leisure sector.

You will also be supported by an experienced mentor within your workplace, who will be there to help you improve your knowledge and skills in a customer service environment within the active leisure industry.
