The course requires physical exertion and individual participation is essential, therefore, a degree of physical fitness is necessary. Learners must be aged 16 plus at the point of certification. Ideally learners should have some experience of participating in exercise through personal practice as they will need to take part in group exercise as part of these qualifications. Learners should also have communication skills, pitched at level 2, which can be further developed during the course.
