We are looking for a motivated and commercially minded Assistant Manager (with Facility Manager responsibilities) to support the management and operational delivery of our leisure assets. This hybrid role combines strategic asset oversight with hands-on operational support, ensuring our facilities run efficiently while maximising financial performance and customer satisfaction.
Working closely with senior management, you will assist in overseeing budgets, capital projects, and compliance, while also supporting day-to-day site operations, staff coordination, and service standards. This position is ideal for someone with experience in Operations management or Facility Management within a fast-paced leisure environment. The ideal candidate will combine strong asset management skills with hands-on operational oversight, driving both strategic growth and day-to-day excellence across our leisure portfolio.
Duties
Work as a duty manager during the open season to support with the operational running of the business
Support the General Manager and monitor the daily operations of leisure facilities to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient running.
Ensure facilities comply with all health & safety, legal, and regulatory requirements.
Work closely with General Managers and Operations Teams to optimise customer service, staffing, and resource allocation.
Lead or support incident management, risk assessments, and emergency planning.
Develop and monitor asset strategies, including lifecycle planning, capital improvements, and refurbishment programs.
Conduct regular asset reviews, benchmarking performance against industry standards and KPIs.
Collaborate with the General Manager to prepare budgets, forecasts, and long-term investment plans.

Experience
Proven track record in facility management or operations management within the Leisure Industry
Experience within a senior management position, with the ability to lead a young and diverse team
Solid understanding of facilities management, compliance, and health & safety regulations.
Ability to balance strategic oversight with hands-on operational involvement.
Strong problem-solving mindset, with the ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle emergencies with confidence.
Qualifications:
RLSS NPLQ National Pool Lifeguard Qualification – Essential
Pool Plant Operator – Essential
RLSS Trainer Assessor – Desirable
NEBOSH – Desirable
